I've examined the metadata / EXIF data contained within photographs taken on an Apple iPhone and also a Blackberry device but unfortunately, I don't seem to be able to locate any unique number such as a serial number which relates to the actual device that took the photograph.

Anybody else had any experience looking at this?

I have samples from these devices and I don't remember seeing an embedded serial number either.

Typically, only high-end digital cameras store this information.  I haven't seen this in a phone yet that I can recall.
