Hi Phil Hi Bogdan
Thanks for ExifTool and Gui, yery powerful.
I decide to process all my rawfiles. Then came GUI 5 and I starded by zero again, but now I have the workspace I need.  :)

Using ExifTool direct: If the filename contain  ä ö ü they will not be processed, renaming helps. Also using workspace works fine.

with ExifToolGUI 4.26 (8.74) this does not happen.

Greetings,

Hi Hannes,

Thank you for reporting. Sorry to say, that I can't help right now, because my disk just died (notice on GUI download page).

Bogdan

New GUI update v5.10 is ready for download.

I hope this means that you got your computer up and running again.

I hope it wasn't too painful to fix things.

Hi Phil,

Yes, got  a new disk and it's fine now. As you know, what takes time most is not to install OS and apps, but to make everything (appearance, settings) as it was before.
And I needed to work on GUI update as soon as possible:
-as long I can still remember what I allready did (and lost) since v5.09
-it was important to fix the bug re. "foreign" characters in filenames.
Ok, being a bit in hurry, it's possible I overlooked something...

Hi Bogdan
Great. It's working.
But now  I'm struggling with something similar.

Export/Import >copy metadata from single file....
if this file contains "foreign" characters

File 'C:\Users\Hannes\Desktop\Club\TEST\V292-Blässhuhn_3412 - Kopie.jpg' does not exist for -tagsFromFile option
<-END-

or

Exiftool diret
-Exif:DocumentName<$filename
result  -->    V292-Blsshuhn_3412 - Kopie.jpg

Regards
Hannes

Hi Hannes,

Yes, I see. I ran a few tests and it seems that I found a (tricky) solution. So this should be fixed in next update.
Thank you for reporting this!
