Hi!

I just want to add my vote for a Direct write option.

I understand that there are limitations for this options but I have dozens of 200MB Tiffs a day that have to be updated. And all have a large padding areas ...

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).
