Canon lens Serial Number

Hi,

is there a way to change the Canon makernotes Lens Serial Number?

I tried

Code Select Expand

-makernotes:LensSerialNumber="000000000" and the same without quotes but that did not work.

Instead of changing, deleting this one tag would also be ok.

Thanks for pointing this out.

The way I had defined this tag, it wasn't writable, but I have fixed this and you will be able to write or delete this tag with ExifTool 9.17.  (Well, technically not delete it, but writing -makernotes:LensSerialNumber= will set it to all zeros, and ExifTool won't extract the LensSerialNumber if it is all zeros).
