exposuretime off by constant 20% for Canon HF G30

Hi All,

I'm new to ExifTool and this forum and mightily impressed so far! Thanks for this really exceptional tool.

Getting my feet wet I've encountered what seems to be an -exposuretime scaling factor problem. All values for the Canon Legria/Vixia HF G30 are 20% higher than the corresponding ones reported by the camera. (Note that this differs from https://exiftool.org/faq.html#Q4 which refers to fluctuating values caused by rounding errors.) Details are below.

1) System type:

A very comprehensive post, and thanks for including a sample.  (And it is wonderful to see that someone reads the FAQ!)

ExifTool 9.49 (likely to be released tomorrow) will report these values correctly.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).

One question:

When I open your video in VLC, it shows a frame rate of 100 fps.  Do you know what the actual frame rate was?  I don't understand how it could be 100 fps since the longest shutter time is more than 1/100 sec.

Edit: I think the problem is VLC.  I downloaded another MTS video which was reportedly shot at 50 fps, and VLC showed 100 fps for it too.

Well deduced, the actual frame rate is 50 fps (fixed). These clips from my camera sometimes throw other software too; for instance some Avisynth source filters intermittently report about* half the actual frame rate. * = the closest NTSC rate less than half the correct PAL frame rate, e.g. 50 fps is sometimes reported as 23.976 fps by DSS2() and other filters.

My apologies for not responding sooner. Forum newbie who forgot to check that notifications are on by default  ;).
