I would like to change the lens type in my raw file so that DPP can recognize my sigma lens as one of the canon lens,
and then do lens aberration correction.

What i did in ExifTool GUI:  Modify -> Canon MakerNotes -> Lens Type (for DPP)

I am using Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 and wants to change the lens type to, for example, Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM.

I am now able to use the Digital Lens optimizer function in DPP but still able to use the lens aberration correction.

Does anyone try that before? How can I achieve this goal? Thanks.

There is more than just the name of the lens.  Other lens information (minimum/maximum focal length) for example may also need to be changed.  I suggest starting from a sample image of the lens you want, then maybe copying over all the metadata to one of your images to see if that works as a starting point.

Thanks so much Phil!

It works if I copy all the metadata to the image I want and tried to see which changes are necessary. However, I cannot change the information in "maker" in ExifTool GUI as I cannot add them to "workspace".

I tried to look at the manual, but it seems I cannot solve it. Please kindly advise.

Sorry, I don't know much about the GUI.  But I would have thought you could add any tag to the workspace.
