Hi Phil
I'm interested in creating a Windows GUI front-end to your excellent Exiftool.

Have found and used Photomove 2.0 which performs most of the functionality I require.  However, despite numerous attempts over the past month or so to make contact with the author to initiate a discussion re purchasing rights to use & modify his software, there has been no response.

I am therefore seeking an alternative developer to start from scratch & wonder if you could point me in the right direction and/or recommend any suitable individuals or organizations?

thank you
Paul

Hi Paul,

Sorry.  Offhand I wouldn't know who to suggest.

Hi Paul,

Mainly for my own needs I have developed a GUI for Exiftool (using C# & VB.net) that runs in Windows.  Once I have completed testing, I plan to provide a link for it here.

Currently it does 99% of what ExifToolGUI  (https://exiftool.org/gui/) can do and has other features.

You can email me directly and I can explain more.  I may be able to incorporate into it the capabilities you specifically need and/or provide you the source code.

Hi there Curtis
Thanks very much for your response.
I'm doing some research into what's available on behalf of my daughter's business plan & have used Mike Baker's Photomove 2.0
http://www.mjbpix.com/photomove-2-0-features-and-options/

Are you familiar with Photomove & if so, how similar is the package you're working on?
regards

Paul

Hi Paul,

I looked at the PhotoMove website and basically what it does is create folders based on dates and camera model meta data in the photos and then copies or moves the files to those folders and you can set some filters on which types of files to look at.

Unfortunately the program I made was not intended to do this.  Mine is for editing the meta data in a quick and efficient way on a single file or groups of files.

I have not used exiftool for the purpose of renaming files but I believe it has some powerful capabilities to do this directly from the command line using exiftool.exe.   Check out http://www.exiftool.org/filename.html for detailed info on this.

Sorry I could not be of more help.
