Typo in French translation of "Location"

It seems that there is typo in the French translation of the field "Location". It should be "Lieu" instead of "Ligne", what is current word.

I find this typo in ExifTool with ExifTool GUI for Windows and also with softwares that use ExifTool : Daminion, and PIE from Picmeta.

Concerning translation in French, I would add the following to the previous post.

-Translation of "State" :
"State" is translated as "Etat". That is literally correct. But "Etat" has two meanings : the political and legal organization of a bounded territory either the country itself.
What means that with the current translation ( Country>> Pays, State >> Etat), both names of fields have the same meaning within France. Others way to explain : France is one country and also one state.
To accommodate other French speaking countries, I propose you to translate "State" by "Région / Département". The same as for "Province-State". That is also the solution in others software tools for images managing.

Thanks for your answer and futur action. I will continue to use ExifTool and when I have some concerns, I will let know.

At the moment my main trouble has no solution either with you or at suppliers of the softwares I use, Daminion, PIE and LR. I give some explanation. For several fields, the name of the field is not the same when you enter an information in a function of the software and when this information is displayed by using ExifTool in an other function. Of course, the value is the same, but the name is different. And that on the same screen ...

Other case : I enter an information in one field in one software and it displayed in two or more fields, on the other software. It not simple in English, the common language. And when you add translation, it is inextricable.

All these software refer to the same standards, but interpret it differently. To solution is : product certification, conformity to the standard. Unrealistic, we have to live with.

RE : -Translation of "State"

A more better and exact translation for both "State" and  "Province-State" is "État / Région".

Rationale :
- French version is not only used in France, "Département" is a specific term to French entities.
- "Région" is more general and can be used in other countries
- preserve the translation of "State" as "État"
- this translation is used in GeoSetter, one of the reference in Geotaging
- the value obtained  from the Web for "Province-State" corresponds to "Région" and not "Départment"

Hello,

For the the "Metering Mode" you translate "Spot" in French with "Grain". This is understandable in French,"un grain de café" is "a coffee bean". But this word is not common in the photographic sphere. Canon and Nikon doesnt not translate "spot" in there user guides.

I propose you to not translate "spot" in the french version. There is no better word for that in French.
