Hi, I'm a complete newbie to Exiftool- I stumbled on the tool because I'm looking to create a gpx file from a bunch of geotagged photos, and then use the gpx file to tag some photos taken over the same time interval with a different camera.

The "Reverse Geotagging" and "geotag" sections here do exactly what I want:
https://exiftool.org/geotag.html

However, I don't understand how to use the print format file. Could someone please point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Phil Harvey

The "Usage:" comment line in the .fmt file shows you an example command.  Can you be more specific about what you don't understand?

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).

Ah, thanks Phil, that was actually enough to get me started: I hadn't realized you called the fmt file as part of a command. I got it to work! Much appreciated.
