Where does (current) Apple Photos write image captions?

Does anyone know where the current version of Apple Photos (or whatever replaced iPhoto) actually stores captions, in the JPEG metadata?
iPhoto used the IPTC Caption/Abstract, but this doesn't seem to work for the new software.

Hi Joakimk,

Try using Photo to write a caption, then use "exiftool -a -G1" on the file to see where it went.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).
