Custom metadata

Hi,
Can we create custom metadata in a pdf file ?

Something like : document number
or : serial number
or : document class

PDF files can hold XMP tags and you can create you own (see example config file) but I believe there are xmp tags that you can use for those purposes.  For example, XMP:Identifier could be used for serial or document number.
