I'm sorry, but how do I turn off sending emails to me about new messages?
I couldn't find it.
I removed the check boxes to change the settings . but the letters still come.
:o

You will find the notification settings here:

Click on the "Profile" link, then choose "Notifications" from the "Modify Profile" menu.

I it know  :) , but I don't know what to choose. Here are my current settings. I don't want to email, I check the forum itself.

Phil Harvey

OK.  You have unchecked the necessary boxes.

I guess you need to also click the "Unnotify" button at the top of each board/topic that you are currently being notified about.

But then I won't get notified here.

I have one mail for everything. I'm very uncomfortable getting everything in the mail (and the phone beeps). It is a pity that I can not receive notifications only within the forum. I'll have to add spam settings.

But that is exactly what you can get!
If you want to receive an email when a topic has been updated, simply click the notify button underneath the last post. You will then receive an email ONLY when that particular topic is updated.

Or am I misunderstanding you???

What do you mean by "receive notifications only within the forum"? Every topic has a NEW icon next to it to it when you haven't read all posts in that topic. If you don't want to receive any mail, but just be notified inside the forum, isn't that NEW icon doing exactly what you want?

I probably incorrectly translated my demands into English.
I do not want to receive any mail, I want to check the forum manually.
If I disable notifications, then on the forum itself I cannot check them manually, they disappear.
I don't need emails, but I need notifications inside the forum.

OK, right, but that's exactly the purpose of the NEW icon next to a topic. It's telling you there are new posts available in that topic since you last visited the forum.

Note: if you don't read those and return at a later time, the "new" icon won't be there any longer (since there are no new post since last visit...)

Does this help?

P.S. your English isn't that bad at all!

Yes, but if I read it and want to reply later, this topic disappears from the list and I don't remember where I wanted to reply.
There is another list of my topics, but it is very cumbersome.
In it except the name there is also all text of the message.
If a person has created a lot of topics, it is very inconvenient to use.

Thank you, because I never studied it.
I just often read in English different documentation for programs and gradually mastered something.
My English is half technical translation and half my corrections of this technical translation.

If you read an item but want to return to it later, press "mark unread" it will then get the NEW icon again.
