Just a thought - you mentioned copying the file but my method doesn't copy any files

There seems to be a problem with SMB3 and the FileModifyTimestamp on Synology NAS. Did never have that problem myself but maybe...? Please switch your NAS' network settings to SMB2 and do a test if you can then change/set the timestamp.
