Download links for older versions are broken

Through the last few releases, only the very latest release is available for download (currently 12.28):

https://exiftool.org/Image-ExifTool-12.28.tar.gz

If I try and download any of the older releases mentioned in the RSS feed, I get a 404 saying "Error: The requested resource could not be found", for example, the latest production release:

https://exiftool.org/Image-ExifTool-12.26.tar.gz

Is there a new URL or a fix needed to make those work?

Dreamhost shut down the ExifTool web server this morning due to high load.

I don't know yet what the source of the problem was, but I have taken some steps to reduce the server load to avoid this happening again.  The changes include disabling the forum Search function and removing old versions of the ExifTool packages from the server.

I'll continue to investigate the issue, but hopefully the steps I have taken so far will help to avoid this problem in the future.

"It didn't work" isn't helpful. What was the exact command used and the output.
Read FAQ #3 and use that cmd
Please use the Code button for exiftool output

Please include your OS/Exiftool version/filetype

Thanks for the pointer. Realized I could get the tarball of the production version via CPAN, so I ended up doing that.

CPAN only has the latest 3 production versions, but BACKPAN hosts all of the older ones.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).
