Writing metadata to EIP files (reviving old topic)

There was a post about 2.5 - 3 years ago that brought up this topic and since we're a few years on I was wondering if anything has changed.

Like the previous poster, I have a workflow that deals with thousands of raw files, on an ongoing basis, packaged as EIPs. I need to be able to apply metadata to those files (well after they have been created so I can't just do it at the time of creation in Capture One).

I realize that Exiftool doesn't support any sort of zipped files – and at the time of the original post it seemed that there may not have been much of a voiced demand for that ability.
Although there may still not be a comparatively large demand for it I suspect the demand is somewhat greater now.

Is this something that may be considered?

Hi Phil,

It is unlikely that writing EIP files will ever be supported, but I have taken note of your interest in this.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).

Hey – that's all I can ask for. :-)

Thanks for the reply and consideration.
