in DNGs, this is always called "New Subfile Type" in the DNG spec.  See p. 19, 1.6.0.0

Another huge discovery?   :p

Yup.  It wasn't "new" when I first wrote ExifTool.  ;)  (...and it's even less "new" now!)

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).
