Hey guys, I have absolutely no clue about any of this stuff, I am only trying to get a thumbnail from a corrupted JPG I restored.

I've installed exiftool and tried running the following command in cmd for it:

exiftool -b -ThumbnailImage IMG_0067.JPG > my_thumbnail.jpg

Upon doing this I get Error: file is empty -IMG_0067.JPG.

I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong, do I need to manually set the directory to it? Hopefully someone can help!
Thanks. ;D

The image wasn't recovered.  File is empty means there isn't any data in the file.  If you check, the file size should be 0.
* Did you read FAQ #3 and use the command listed there?
* Please use the Code button for exiftool code/output.

* Please include your OS, Exiftool version, and type of file you're processing (MP4, JPG, etc).

Apparently not!
Unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean
