Changing Metadata breaks Windows Explorer showing thumbnail

@FrankB: I've got an update on this.

As already written, I've sent a bug report to Microsoft via "Feedback-Hub" approx. 2 weeks ago (not completely sure, but I guess 9/10 April 2025). My Win11 was updated two days ago. The current version of WindowsCodecs.dll is now 10.0.26100.3912. And now, thumbnails of the problematic files (there has been more than just the one posted in this thread) are back again.

Wow.  Very impressed to actually see it fixed this quickly.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).

I wonder if Microsoft has also fixed the missing thumbnails and metadata issue in movies with the FullFrameRatePlaybackIntent tag introduced in iOS/iPadOS 18.
