"Creator" tag

I have some JPGs captured with a Canon Rebel XT.  I see a tag named Creator, which generally appears as "unknown," or sometimes indicates the letter "d."  Could this be a field that the camera user could specify through the menu to enter a name or any text?  Thanks.

"Creator" is an XMP tag and isn't written by the camera.

But  you can set the "OwnerName" tag via the Canon software when the camera is connected to the computer.  I forget exactly how now, but I did this for my 300D.
