Running the command in a time zone different than the one recorded

I spent a day in Copenhagen where the time zone is +1 GMT.  I adjusted my camera and GPS logger, Holux 241-M, accordingly.  I flew to another time zone that is +4 GMT.  I adjusted my laptop time by adjusting the time zone setting.  I downloaded my images and GPS logging information.  When I ran the command, I saw that the exiftool placed the images 3 hours earlier than where I actually was.

I used the -geosync setting to adjust the logging data to the correct time.  Nothing worked until I changed my laptop back to +1 GMT.  When I ran the command again, it placed the photos in the correct location.

Is there a parameter or setting I could use instead of making the laptop change?  Also, I'll be doing more traveling through different time zones.  Will I have to run the command separately for photos in each different time zone?  Thanks for the help!

You can specify the timezone for the camera date/time tag.  This is mentioned in the geotag documentation in a few places.  Look at the examples section for examples of how to do this.

Please let me know if you still have problems after reading this.
