Hello,
I defined 3 new IPTC-tags in the ExifTool_config File.

tag ID 100:  for the ISO country-code
tag ID 106:  for an english headline
tag ID 220:  for an english caption

All works fine, but after opening and saving the jpeg-image with Photoshop or GraphicConverter these custom tags are no longer findable.

Often the strategy of image editors is to delete any metadata they don't understand.  You may have better luck with custom XMP tags since this format is designed to be extensible.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).

Thanks for your advice!

Unfortunately these iptc-tags are required to transfer image files to an external database.

At least the best solution will be to set the iptc-tags at the very end of the workflow.

Kind regards
