So for my first post, I'm already asking a question.  Oh, and introducing myself. . .

How can I enter either the Camera's senial number or a unique name (like the Assigned Photographer's Name) to each image.  I see in the properties that this information is available but I have been able to figure out where to enter it in my Nikon D7000 cameral software so that it shows up on every image that I take.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Hi Rob,

I don't own D7000 camera, but if you mean literary "so that it shows up on every image that I take", then it won't go, as far I know -this "feature" exist on pocket cameras mostly. The only way is, you add your data/signature later on PC, by using some image editing software.

In your camera menu you have a "comment" or a "copyright" (or both) field where you can enter your name. For now this is saved in the Metadata. You should find this in the user manuel. I can't download it because I have to register my Nikon product for that. But I have none. So please take a look in your manuel.

I don't know about Nikon but my Fujifilm stores it's serial number by default in the metadata. Have you take a look in you metadata with exiftool if there is something like this.?

This finds the serial number on a D7000 file
exiftool -serialnumber ahc_4383.nef

JanK, you should be able to download the D7000 from the US Nikon site http://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/17008
