Hi,
Suggestions anyone?

I want to extract the "Date Taken" from AVI files taken on an old Sony HandyCam.    It seems that the AVI files do contain that information, since PMB software can correctly identify it.   But ExifTool doesn't find any such tag  :(, and neither does abcAVI Tag Editor, VLC Media Player, or Windows Media Player.

Would anyone have suggestions as to where I can find the "Date Taken" information in the AVI files, and possibly how I can extract it?   See attached sample information.

TIA,
Joel

ExifTool only parses the metadata of video files.  There may be all sorts of other information in the video stream, depending on the codec and the encoding software.

OK, thanks Phil -- I will look into that.    Thanks too for your great tool.  :-)
