Corrupted Nef files

Hello
I recently damaged an external hard disc where I had a lot of Nikon Nef files, taken with Nikon D300s. Fortunately I had a backup in DVDs, so I could recover most of them in a new hard drive.
But there are some files in 3 folders that I cannot recover. (there is no possibility to recover them from the memory cards, because I have reused them) They seem to be damaged, although they appear in their folders with their right size in Mb. When I try to open them, there is a message telling that it "is not the right type".
I downloaded and used "fix_corrupted_nef.exe" but it didn't solve the problem as it is not programmed for Nikon 300s. Please help. Those photos are valuable for me.

Hi Gargaro,

The fix_corrupted_nef utility only fixes NEF's which were corrupted by Nikon software.  Not ones corrupted by disk errors.

But if you send me one of the corrupted NEF's, I'll take a look to see what can be recovered.  My mail is philharvey66 at gmail.com

Hi Gargaro,

Unfortunately, bad news:

I have seen this before.  The corrupted file consists entirely of binary zeros.  No useful information can be recovered from this file.

Sorry.

OK Phil
Thanks again for your effort
