Hi Phil,

is it possible to add these new decoded ArtfFilterEffects to your Tool and also modify the old oldput?
Some Filters are new with the O-MD EM-1 since the Software-Update to Version 2.0

This recommenced output matches exactly the possibel settings of the Camera and Olympus Viewer 3 Version 1.4.

Maker-Notes Olympus - ArtFilterEffect:

Old Output          Hopefully new output :-)
Pop Art             = Pop Art I
Pop Art II          = OK

Soft Focus          = OK

Pale & Light Color  = Pale & Light Color I
Tender Light        = Pale & Light Color II

Light Tone          = OK

Grainy Film         = Grainy Film I
Grainy Film II      = OK

Pin Hole            = Pin Hole I
Pin Hole II         = OK
Pin Hole III        = OK

Diorama             = Diorama I
Unknown (0x23)      = Diorama II

Cross Process       = Cross Process I
Unknown (0x1f)      = Cross Process II

Gentle Sepia        = OK

Dramatic Tone       = Dramatic Tone I
Dramatic Tone B&W   = Dramatic Tone II

Key Line            = Key Line I
Unknown (0x1a)      = Key Line II

Watercolor II       = Watercolor I
Unknown (0x22)      = Watercolor II

Unknown (0x24)      = Vintage I
Unknown (0x25)      = Vintage II
Unknown (0x26)      = Vintage III

Unknown (0x27)      = Partial Color I
Unknown (0x28)      = Partial Color II
Unknown (0x29)      = Partial Color III

I only use my RAW-Files, but somtimes I would like to know which ArtFilter I used.
This information in only stored in the Maker-Notes of the RAW-File and also the Olympus-RAW-Converter "Olympus Viewer 3" doesn't display this information.

Or is this an information you do not carry weight on?
Maybe its an information only Olympus can modify?

thx

Hi Phiber,

Thanks for the suggestion.  I'll change what I can, but if any of these were translated into alternate languages then it would break the translation if I change the old values.  I'll look into this tomorrow and post back here when I know more.

hi phil,

thx you very much for the feedback!

There are enough translated values that I don't want to add the "I".  But other than this, I will implement all of your suggestions.  For consistency, I will just leave off the "I" from all settings.

Thank you very much for this information!

Edit:  Darn.  There is a conflict with your new "Watercolor I".  I hate it when this happens.

yes, exactly.
I tried it more times with the Watercolor.

When i set my cam to "Watercolor I" it displays "Watercolor II" with the exiftool

When I use "Watercolor II" this is the output: Unknown (0x22)

Also, there is another "Watercolor" entry.  So I will change it to "Watercolor I", but this will be the only case where I include "I" in the name.

A bit of a mess really.  Maintaining backward compatibility for older models is difficult.

Yes, and your suggested values (not the old values) in both cases.
