Edit Metadata using JSON file

I some png format images. I have their metadata also in separate json files. Now, i converted the png files to webp format. So the metadata of that file get changed. But now i want to add those original metadata to that png file when i will convert back that webp image to same song image again ?  I tried doing that but it didn't write anything.

I'm confused by exactly what you are doing.   Please give the command you used and a sample JSON file if you were reading metadata from it.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).
