Hi all! (Harvey listening?)

I found recently the ExifTool and I thought a very good software!I was looking for something to add metadata to some analog photos and worked well.

I'm living in Brazil and here there is a large community of free software entusistas. Would I like to translate the documentation (if possible) to Portuguese. I think that can help those who would like to use ExifTool, but will not be confortable to read all documentation in English.

I created a page here: http://wiki.nosdigitais.teia.org.br/Exiftool

And I'm translating gradually ...

Any problem or tip, let me know what to do.

Thanks!

Felipe Cabral

Hi Felipe,

Thanks for the note.  Unfortunately your timing could have been better.  I have recently removed links from the ExifTool home page to alternate-language translations because of a recent flurry of offers to translate the ExifTool web page into other languages (mainly eastern European).  I am guessing that they are just trolling for links to increase the visibility of their web sites, but I can't be sure.  It sounds like your motives are honourable, but I don't think it is right to make an exception and link to your translation after I have removed the others.  Regardless of motive, one unavoidable problem is that the translations quickly become outdated since ExifTool is changing so quickly.

So you are free to translate the documentation and post a link here, but I won't be adding it to the ExifTool home page.
