Hi there! I'm trying to use the 10.05 version, just downloaded off the website, but I'm having the following error with something as simple as a exiftool -ver:

Missing right curly or square bracket at Image/ExifTool.pm line 2598, at end of
line
syntax error at Image/ExifTool.pm line 2598, at EOF
Compilation failed in require at script/exiftool line 30.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at script/exiftool line 30.

I've been using ExifTool for a few versions now (mostly version 9.90), but needed to upgrade due to a possible lack of support to Olympus E-PL7 files (not having any luck getting the -JpgFromRaw or -PreviewImage flags to work).

Anyone else have the same problem?

This indicates a corrupted installation.  Follow the uninstall instructions here then try again.
