Hello Phil,

I am the French localizer of GraphicConverter on Mac. Thorsten Lemke includes the ExifTool package to analyze and display the exif data (currently in 10.01 version). The problem is that several strings are not localized in French. Is it possible to update them into French ? I would be pleased to do that if you want. I am localizing softwares since 1994 on Mac and have a good knowledge on that kind of stuff.

Hi Philippe,

Thanks for the offer.  The exiftool documentation explains the preferred method to submit language updates:

Currently, the language support is not complete, but users are
welcome to help improve this by submitting their own translations.
To submit a set of translations, first use the -listx option and
redirect the output to a file to generate an XML tag database,
then add entries for other languages, zip this file, and email it
to philharvey66 at gmail.com for inclusion in ExifTool.

Unfortunately, there is a lot of duplication of tag names in the -listx output for the various metadata types, but it is only necessary to update a single copy of a given tag name.

Also, please tell me the ExifTool version that you used to generate the XML output.

Thanks.
