EXIF 0xa214 SubjectLocation not writable

I want to write country, state, city in 1 field and tried EXIF 0xa214 SubjectLocation, but had an empty result. Ist this a text field? It says int16u[2] on the webpage. I know there are better fields, but what I tried could not be read by f-stop.

A google search comes up with that it's the x/y pixel coordinates of the main subject in the image.
