Capture On Pro prevent editing of images less than 512px, but this also prevents editing the metadata - which with C1P is always in the XMP Sidecar.  They never alter the image file.  Unfortunately, I have a lot of long & thin images that I'm unable to keyword.

Phase One replies...

"This is the design of the XMP format. XMP files are not intended to be opened manually. Instead they are referenced by the application used to open the corresponding camera raw file. So if you cannot open edit the existing RAW file, you will not be able to edit the corresponding XMP alone."

Please can anyone confirm if they are correct or not?

You can edit the XMP files with ExifTool (or any text editor for that matter).  You can also edit the RAW files with ExifTool if you want.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).

Thank you Phil.  I think this loosely translates to "They're talking bullshit".
