I use the software IMatch (which relies on ExifTool) to tag and archive my photos. Recently I purchased a TAMRON SP 35mm F/1.8 Di VC USD F012 lens to use with my Canon EOS 700D camera. Unfortunately ExifTool seems to confuse the lens type which is read from the corresponding Canon makernote tags (LensType). All the photos taken with the mentioned lens show up as taken with a Canon EF 28 mm f 2.8 IS USM. What's more I cannot change the value manually as the Tamron lens does not show up in the list of available lenses (I guess based on the lens id) and manual override isn't possible neither. I've already spoken to the developer of IMatch and he told me to post my issue on this forum as the issue needs to be addressed in ExifTool itself.

Thanks in advance for looking into it. Attached you'll find a photo that is affected by this issue.

Thanks for this.  I'll add this lens to ExifTool 11.24.
