The Metadata Working Group's Web site has been down for over a year, but it can still be accessed in the Wayback Machine (whose last snapshot is from Oct 6 2018).  Perhaps it would be best to update the link to metadataworkinggroup.org on https://exiftool.org/TagNames/MWG.html to this Wayback link:

https://web.archive.org/web/20181006115950/http://www.metadataworkinggroup.org/specs/

I searched for other references to metadataworkinggroup.org in the documentation but couldn't find any.

An Adobe contact tried to find out the status of the organization and their Web site last fall but never got back to me. Also see the previous discussion about the status of MWG: https://exiftool.org/forum/index.php?topic=10030.0 . Given that the organization may still exist but they can't even keep their Web site alive, it's sure looking like they're (at best) in suspended animation and may never get revived.

Yes, it's been nearly a year since I got this response from them:

QuoteThe MWG work is ongoing and still holds copyright and IP related to the MWG spec and technologies.

The public website is down for now, but we hope to have it back up soon.

... but still no web site. :(

I guess maybe it is time to update links to the wayback machine as you suggest.

Heh, I was just thinking about mentioning this a couple days ago.

The Archive even has the PDF saved.
* Did you read FAQ #3 and use the command listed there?
* Please use the Code button for exiftool code/output.

* Please include your OS, Exiftool version, and type of file you're processing (MP4, JPG, etc).

FYI: The MWG is still offline. Maybe the time has come to update the links  :)

To be on the safe side here is the link to the last version:

Great. I have additionally found occurrences on other pages. You may also want to change these.
