Hello Phil,

with version 11.91 of Exiftool you introduced a new option -ec in order to escape control characters.
Thanks for this new version.

Sorry, but at the moment it is unclear to me about which control characters we are taking, when these characters are to be escaped for C.
Is it binary characters or "only" characters like LineFeed, CarriageReturn or Tab.

Please give more details.

Hi Herb,

Control characters are 0x00 to 0x1f and 0x7f.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).
