Can you please help me out in renaming all files of the directory and i need to remove last few characters from the name.

Please do not post multiple times.  One post is enough.

Try this command to make sure it is doing what you want.  If it looks correct, change TestName to FileName
exiftool -TestName=%-.4f.%e /path/to/files/
