Maker Notes lost in files

How can I add the missing complete makernotes to marked files in Exiftool direct:
Make: NIKON Cororation
Model: Nikon D700
or all fields empty

AND
How can I change makernotes to marked files in Exiftool direct:
Make: NIKON Cororation +
Model: Nikon D700 > Nikon D700a
because there are several d700 in use

What do i have to type exactly ? Sorry absolute beginner

I would not recommend changing Make or Model if you are interested in the maker notes (see FAQ 8).

To add missing makernotes you need to copy from another file.  You can copy from NEF like this for example:  -tagsfromfile %d%f.NEF -makernotes
