Fujifilm X-T3 Rating tag

This isn't strictly an Exiftool question but maybe its a known issue.

In a recent firmware update Fuji moved the in camera rating tag from the Maker Notes to a separate application block in XML format.

The new XML block exists in both jpeg and raw (raf) files.

As far as I can see its an Adobe standard format and exiftool picks it up as "rating" in the "XMP-xmp" group.

The intention was to make it possible to rate images in the camera and have the rating visible in third party image viewers and editors.

The problem is that programs like Lightroom, FastRawViewer, Capture One and even Windows explorer see the tag in the jpg file but not the raw file (RAF).

The rating seems to be stored identically in both the jpeg and raf files.

Any ideas?

RAF is a proprietary format, and support by other applications may not be as complete as you might desire.  Even for some public formats like PNG, XMP support is not very good.  :(

My only suggestion is to throw a stone in the pond and see if the ripples spread.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).
