How can this be done? Everything i find on searches tell me how to rename file names to the metadata and there are some very easy programs available to do that, but i want the opposite - to set the filename as the Title and to be able to do so on all the files in a directory. I am running Windows 10.

Thank you folks, i am soooo confused.

Greetings, the basic format is like...
exiftool -Title"<filename" "FolderPath" but you can also do it like exiftool -Title"<BeginText--${filename}--EndText" "FolderPath"

The filename only writes filename.ext into $Title, but there is also filepath if needing to insert parts of the folder path.
You must add -overwrite_original to forbid exiftool creating backups of your videos.
Also can add -ext mp4 to only conduct the .mp4 files

You can experiment by changing "FolderPath" to some "TestFilename.ext", so exiftool wont try to conduct everything in "FolderPath".

Windows8.1-64bit, exiftool-v12.11(standalone), sed-v4.0.7
