Profile Date Time field on iPhone exif

Hi, I have 2 images that contain iPhone metadata. The first one has "Profile Date Time" date/time of "2017:07:07 13:22:32" which is seen on a wide variety of iPhones, the second image has a different value in this field:  "2022:01:01  00:00:00"  and was created about a month later. Obviously seems to be created by a more recent version of iPhone/iOS
The device in both cases is likely (derived from other fields) a iPhone Pro 11, X or XS.  My question is, could it be that both images are from the same device and that a iOS upgrade in between is an explanation for the difference? The color profile metadata may change if the phone uses a different color profile for the images.  A change in the software that writes the image could trigger this.
