Hi,
Excellent utility, Phil!

Have recent bought a DJI Zenmuse XT2 thermal camera and am using the RGB 4k ( .mov ) and thermal HD ( .seq ) video outputs.  What I would like to get is the full set of GPS positions stored during a flight.

If I just use  'exiftool -ee FILE' on either the mov or seq files, I get just one GPS position output.  However, if i use the same command on one of my NextBase dashcam mp4 files, I get a whole mass of GPS coordinates.

Am I missing something obvious in the options??  I'm only looking to output the positions, not modify the files in any way.

Many thanks, Al

Try
exiftool -G1 -a -s -ee -GPS* file.mp4

Do you still  only get one gps coordinate?  Probably in a tag named GPSCoordinates?

If so, can you make a short sample file available?
* Did you read FAQ #3 and use the command listed there?
* Please use the Code button for exiftool code/output.

* Please include your OS, Exiftool version, and type of file you're processing (MP4, JPG, etc).

Hi,
Alas this was the output:

exif test mov gps extract>exiftool -G1 -a -s -ee -GPS* DJI_0002.SEQ

[FLIR]          GPSVersionID                    : 2.2.0.0

[FLIR]          GPSSpeedRef                     : km/h

The sample files are 1G and 3G :-(

Currently ExifTool extracts metadata only from the first frame in a SEQ file, but I could enhance the -ee option to extract metadata from all frames if you could make sample available.  You can upload the 1 GB sample to dropbox or some other service like that.

Many thanks for the swift reply, Phil, that explains what I am seeing!

You should now have a link to two sample files ( .mov and .seq ) from StarGeek.

Many thanks, Al

Hi Al,

I got the files.

ExifTool 12.35 (when released) will extract the GPS from all frames of the SEQ file.  But I can't find any streaming GPS in the MOV video.

Hi Phil,

Many thanks for the swift action - that's great news!

Have checked and it appears only the SEQ file has the GPS multiframe data, my mistake. :-(
