From reddit
QuoteTo work around Exiv2 limitations, digiKam 8.0.0 will use ExifTool as secondary metadata backend to write/update information in RAW/Video files. This will allow to patch metadata in NEF, CR3, HEIF, AVIF, ARW, JPEG-XR, MOV, MP4, ORF, PEF, PSD, RAF, etc.

I can't find any DigiKam links and 8.0 isn't out yet, so this is probably in development builds
"It didn't work" isn't helpful. What was the exact command used and the output.
Read FAQ #3 and use that cmd
Please use the Code button for exiftool output

Please include your OS/Exiftool version/filetype

Thanks.  I hadn't seen this.

Hello,

as far as I know also digikam version 7.7 and also 7.6 uses Exiftool.
digiKam 7.6 is released and here is a link to the latest snapshot versions of digikam 7.7: https://files.kde.org/digikam/

Best regards

I believe they have an option to use exiftool to read data, but not write data.  I could be wrong though.
