Hi all,

In order to use a feature on Sony Catalyst Browse the clips in which I shoot need to have lens data added to them, mainly focal length but when I don't use Sony lenses this lens data isn't added to the metadata.

Is there a way that I can add this lens metadata in either the XML file or somehow to the MXF file (if I understand this correctly the MXF file is just a wrapper so may need to be unwrapped to change the metadata?)

Ideally I would be able to locate or change the metadata and type in 35mm or 50mm etc (or whatever the code is for that focal length) to be read by the Sony Catalyst browse software in able to use the software properly.

Apologies if this is either impossible or incredibly easy, I've never used Terminal (I'm a mac user) before and all the symbols are confusing.

The video file is saved in the format XAVC-I

Thanks everyone and pray this can get sorted  8)

ExifTool doesn't write either XML (with the exception of XMP, which is a specific type of XML) or MXF, so I fear that it won't be able to help here.
