I'm on the way to develop a C version of this which will be hopefully as accurate as this one:

The reading of tags can be quite automatized thanks to the Tags description list with type. However in the list this very useful field called "Writable" providing the type of the tag is sometimes simply "N" and therefore does not describe the actual type.

I search in the files with the Perl modules but couldn't find a list with the type always shown.
Is it available somewhere?

Since it isn't necessary (for many information formats) for ExifTool to know data type when just extracting information, the type information hasn't been coded for many of these tags.  So the answer is that this information isn't always provided in ExifTool.

You can check the references I give in each module.  In some cases they provide type information.
