The latest exiftool extracts the full 27k, but nothing I have can identify it as an image.  Every 4th byte is still 0x7f.
"It didn't work" isn't helpful. What was the exact command used and the output.
Read FAQ #3 and use that cmd

it's raw image data - Photoshop can open it if you give it the .raw extension; default size for a preview is 100px longest dimension.  maybe a different reader would work better.  but it is a ".raw" image.  - J

... or maybe it is another EXR file?  i will check into that hypothesis later today.  - J
