Can anyone clarify how I can set the CopyrightFlag tag to True, please? I've tried variations on "1" and "True", both with and without quotation marks, and seem to get a message saying:

"Can't convert Photoshop:CopyrightFlag (not in PrintConv)"

If I use 'True' (no quotation marks) then Exiftool no longer complains, but viewing the tags for the image (exiftool -G image.cr2) doesn't list the tag at all, indicating it hasn't been written.

Any advice on what I'm doing wrong would be gratefully received. My exiftool version is 6.91

Thanks,

Haydn

Hi Haydn,

I'm not sure why you had problems with -copyrightflag="True",
because that should work, but -copyrightflag=1 won't work
without the -n option.  (See
https://exiftool.org/faq.html#Q6" target="_blank">FAQ
#6 for an explanation of why.)  And as you discovered,
-copyrightflag=true will also work.

But that doesn't answer your question about writing CopyrightFlag to a CR2
image:  Currently exiftool won't add new Photoshop information to a TIFF-based
image (this includes CR2 images).  I'm not sure why this ability never got added,
but until now nobody has requested it.  I have fixed this oversight, and this
ability will appear in version 6.94 when it is released.  Until then, I have
uploaded a
https://exiftool.org/Image-ExifTool-6.94.tar.gz" target="_blank">6.94
pre-release in case you want to test it out before the official release.
(If you are using the Mac or Windows version, they won't be available until
the official release.)

Hopefully this will get you going.
