I use GPicSync for geocoding my pictures. However, the first instance I used, it added tags that I don't need. Is there a way I could delete a particular keyword from a folder of (say) 100 pictures? GPicSync seems to use exiftool.

Thanks.

You can delete a tag from all images in a folder using a command
line like:

Code:
exiftool  -TAG=  FOLDER

Where TAG is the name of the tag you want to delete, and
FOLDER is the folder containing the images.

Phil. Thanks. What I wanted to know is, how to delete a specific keyword.

Say, my picture has IPTC keywords like "Chicago, Illinois, USA", but then I just want to change "Chicago" to "Peoria", and retain the others, how do I do that.

The problem is that I have a lot of files where I have to retain other keywords and just delete one or two keywords.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Ah. Sorry, I misunderstood.  To remove the Keyword "Chicago" and
add "Peoria" you would do something like this:

Code:
exiftool -keywords-=Chicago -keywords+=Peoria FOLDER

Any other keywords remain unchanged.

Note that this will add "Peoria" even if "Chicago" doesn't exist.  To
add it only if "Chicago" existed, use this:

Code:
exiftool -keywords-=Chicago -keywords+=Peoria -if '$keywords=~/Chicago/' FOLDER

(note: use double quotes in Windows, or single quotes as above in Unix)
