I have posted this on behalf of Franz - Phil

Hi Phil,

I was unable to post this to the CPAN forum, but maybe you can share it
there:

When you use the flickr.photos.getExif API function, the exiftool version
information isn't omitted:

<photo id="xxxxxxxxxx" secret="yyyyyyy" server="zzzz" farm="4">

<exif tagspace="ExifTool" tagspaceid="0" tag="ExifToolVersion" label="ExifToolVersion">

<raw>7.60</raw>

</exif>

....

You can check more in detail with the Flickr API Browser:
http://tinyurl.com/ccf35r" target="_blank">http://tinyurl.com/ccf35r
(URL abbreviated due to its lenght was more than 150 chars).

regards,

Franz

Thanks Franz,

This is proof positive that Flickr uses ExifTool.

Your URL didn't work for me, but in another email you explain that
I can check an image myself by going to the
http://www.flickr.com/services/api/explore/?method=flickr.photos.getExif" target="_blank">Flickr
API Explorer and entering a photo_id, and clicking on "Call Method...".
In the XML that is returned, you will see the ExifTool version number.
