Hello everybody

I'm sure i'm missing something here and hope that you can help me.

I'm using windows and I'm trying to add the Canon:AEBBracketValue value to a file which doesn't have it yet. I use the following dos prompt command

Code:

exiftool -CanonAEBBracketValue=2 xxx.jpg

But i always get the message:

0 image files updated

1 image files unchanged

If i have a picture which already has the AEBBracketValue i can change and/or delete it, but I'm somehow unable to create the value in a picture which hasn't got it yet.

I'm hoping you are able to help me.

Hi Ueli,

Sorry, this should be better documented.  The MakerNotes
tags may not be added or deleted individually.  You may edit
them if they already exist, but you can't create them except
by copying an entire MakerNotes block into the image.

There are many reasons for this, but the fundamental problem
is that there are no rules to say what tags may or may not
exist in the proprietary maker notes.  So the best way to avoid
problems was to disable the ability to add/delete MakerNotes
tags.
