"marker note footer invalid" after geo tagging with Picasa

After setting geo tag with Picasa 3 (in picture taken with "Canon DIGITAL IXUS 990 IS") ExifTool reports "canon marker note footer may be invalid" if I export all metadata to MIE file (using ExifToolGUI in Windows XP and ExifTool 8.34). Is this a problem of Picasa or ExifTool? If I export to other formats (TXT or HTM) there is no error message.

This is a know problem with Picasa.

...where DIR is the name of a directory/folder containing the images.  On Mac/Linux/PowerShell, use single quotes (') instead of double quotes (") around arguments containing a dollar sign ($).
