Thanks!  The JPEG is indeed not corrupt, and the LensType is correct.

This lens will appear in ExifTool 8.97.

I dont own the lens, but it seems that the sigma 70-200mm f2.8 APO EX DG OS HSM gives a LensID of " 8 23".

Hi,

Another new Nikon lens to add to the list; here's the Lens-related output from the first sample pics:

Lens Type                       : G VR
Lens                            : 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5
Lens Data Version               : 0204
Lens ID Number                  : 180
Lens F Stops                    : 5.33
Lens ID                         : Unknown (B4 40 37 62 2C 34 B6 0E)
Lens                            : 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 G VR

I think the full name is something like:

Nikon AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED

Thanks a lot,
Mike.

I don't understand.  ExifTool already identifies these lenses.  (AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED [II] and AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G.)

Hello,

This lens was just launched this month.  Let me know if you need any additional info!

LensId: Unknown (8 210)
Lens Name: Smc PENTAX-DA 18-270mm F3.5-6.3 ED SDM
Camera make: Pentax

BTW, thanks a lot for the great software!  I use it here and it works like a charm for extracting lens and camera info.  Will be sending a donation your way soon!

Thanks!  As it turns out someone just beat you for getting the credit for decoding this lens ID.  It will appear in ExifTool 9.10 when it is released.
